Wedding in Hacienda del Cardenal in Toledo
Simona & Jorge
In the social concept of marriage, many couples work within traditional roles of what is expected from a husband and a wife. However, many more couples are starting to construct something completely different for their marriage – working together as a team. This is what Simona and Jorge described themselves as a couple and something they wanted to continue throughout their marriage. The love and respect they have for each other is undeniable and visible to their wedding guests who joined their celebrations at Hacienda del Cardenal in Toledo, Spain for a ceremony which was personal, emotional and fun. Working as a team, they decided to proclaim their vows to each other in each other’s languages. Simona is Italian and Jorge is Spanish. This level of commitment and loyalty they have for one another added to the already teary-eyed room of guests who were filled with emotions as soon as Simona walked into the room in her wedding dress – especially for her dad who was completely struck by his daughter’s beauty.
Simona and Jorge first laid eyes on each other in a bar in Soho, London back in 2015 when Jorge bravely asked Simona for her number which she supplied with no hesitation. Since then, they have been living in Milano together and sharing mutual experiences through travelling. Even though they describe themselves as being travellers, they are both heavily family-orientated and believe that sharing their special day with the people they love the most rode above any other factors when they planned their wedding together. The romantic engagement for the couple took place on the Bridge of Kisses in Saint Petersburg, much to Simona’s surprise as she wasn’t expecting it at all as Jorge planned the event by himself after deciding to take their already perfect relationship to the next level.
After their emotional ceremony, their wedding party began with Jorge’s dad and best friend singing: yo te prometo amor eterno before letting the cocktail guitarist take over with beautiful, joyful music to compliment the happy, fun atmosphere. The party itself was laid-back, full of laughter and personalised – even down to the cake and table name cards which was kindly created by a good friend of the couple’s.
I thoroughly enjoyed shooting beautiful photographs at this wedding alongside talented French photographer Corrallie Castillo who also captured the essence of the day through photos and videos showcasing the couple’s love and adoration they have for one another and their beloved ones during the most special day of their lives.
