Paris is the most romantic city in the world and the perfect place to celebrate love and happiness
Some may say that Paris is the most romantic city in the world and the perfect place to celebrate love and happiness. For Damien and Jennifer, it was the perfect place. It was also their home. Paris is so perfect, with many wedding locations to choose from so Jennifer and Damien didn’t only have one location for their wedding, they had two!
Damien and Jennifer started their special day at Mairie Townhall, Saint-Prix for the first ceremony. Their beloved family and friends crammed themselves into the hall to get themselves the best seats and be a part of this momentous occasion including their beautiful six month old son. Damien looked elegant in his official fireman suit while Jennifer looked breath-takingly stunning in her white laced dress with a gorgeous flower band in her hair. After the first ceremony was complete, Damien and Jennifer were ushered outside where Damien’s fireman colleagues had arranged for them to travel to the next venue via a fire truck! This kick started the fun element to the wedding as Damien and Jennifer laughed with the wind in their hair, excited to continue their perfect day at the second venue.
The second venue was held at Chateau de Verderonne which is a wonderful Parisian garden complete with flowers, trees and lakes, ready to welcome the happy couple. Whilst they were busy getting ready for their second ceremony, the couple made sure their younger guests were attended to by providing fun games and hats for everyone to wear, fuelling the element of fun and surprise. Damien and Jennifer share a passion for dancing and began the ceremony by dancing together down the aisle, creating a happy, joyful atmosphere. The ceremony itself was full of emotion, love and care, tugging on heartstrings throughout the place as family, friends and guest shed a tear or two. The bride, however, shed more than a few tears as she expressed her happiness and joy of finally marrying her best friend and father of her baby after being together for a long time.
After the wedding dinner, the day traditionally progressed to the playing of games, carrying throughout, that element of fun and laughter that has been very present during the whole wedding. The wedding party played a variety of competitive and fun games such as ‘fetching’ specific items from the crowd before the other participants to avoid elimination. Hysteria and gulps of laughter echoed throughout the room as underwear was provided to win the game!
Even though Damien and Jennifer’s wedding was shared completely with their loved ones, they still managed to personalise and organise their day to fit them as a couple and the little private, intimate moments the couple had just shows how real and compassionate their love really is for one another and how much they truly appreciate each other. Seeing them together with their families and friends, enjoying life and happiness together and sharing this experience with them was truly, a privilege.
I was so happy to have Joshua D´hondt as a second shooter, she not only is an amazing photographer that I admire, but a great person who has become one of the most important people to me.
